Medicine runs in Dr. Meka's blood. He grew up in West Point surrounded by family members in healthcare, and knew from an early age that helping people live healthier lives was his calling. He trained at the University Hospital of West Indies before completing his residency at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.
Dr. Meka has been a member of the Auburn community for most of his professional life. Outside the office, you'll find him with his wife Dr. Powar, their son Teghan, or out riding one of his motorcycles.

Dr. Powar grew up in Vancouver, Canada, where a commitment to community health was simply a way of life. Choosing medicine was the most natural decision she ever made. She trained at the University Hospital of West Indies and completed her residency at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System alongside Dr. Meka.
Now deeply rooted in Auburn, she brings a friendly and welcoming outlook that blends her Canadian upbringing with her adopted Southern hometown. When she's not in the office, she enjoys crafting, cooking, and spending time with her husband and son Teghan.
Physician Assistant, Certified
PA
Shelby's path to medicine began after a high school accident left her in the emergency room, where the physician assistant who treated her changed everything. That moment of clear, compassionate care became her blueprint.
Raised in a military family, Shelby grew up across California and the Pennsylvania/Ohio region before earning her MPAS from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She is now settled in East Alabama with her husband and two children, and brings the energy of someone who genuinely loves her work, in and out of the office.
